How to replace Kitchen Aid dishwasher door links.

Do you have a dishwasher with a door that just falls open with no tension? The fix for this problem is very easy and will only take a couple of minutes.
Start by removing the two screws that hold the dishwasher in place, located generally at the top front. Pull the dishwasher slightly forward, you may need to unhook the water supply, drain hose and electrical connection. Once you have the dishwasher removed from the install location you will now have access to both sides were the links and springs are located.
The part to be replaced are the white stings with plastic fittings on either side. The part number for the links is AP3775412 (Door links). After you have the part start by installing the metal springs to the back frame, the holes are located at bottom rear leg supports. Take the round end of the link and hook it to the metal spring. Next pull the link around the bottom pulley around and over the top pulley and hook that end to the metal receiver hook on the door hinge.
Finish reinstalling the dishwasher and test the door for proper operation.
